Trousers and skirts take more punishment than any other part of a school uniform. They are sat in all day, knelt in on the playground and run in at break, then washed and worn again the next morning. Benjima makes school trousers and skirts for schools, academies and uniform retailers, cut to your styles and made in your colours.
We manage the whole order for you: patterns and size grading, fabric, pleating, tartan weaving if you need it, sampling, production, checks, labelling and delivery. You deal with one person from your first message to the day the cartons arrive, and every choice that affects the finished garment comes to you for approval before anything is cut.
That matters because the problems with school bottoms are usually small but annoying: pleats that drop, knees that wear through, waistbands that are outgrown by spring. We deal with every one of those on the sample you approve, well before any bulk production begins.

Your order begins with a sample made to your specification, whether that is a pair of slim trousers, a box-pleated skirt or a pinafore. Put it on a pupil, wash it at home and compare it with what your school wears now. Any change is made on the sample.
Once you approve it, the sample becomes the standard for the whole order. Fabric shade, pleat depth, waistband, pockets and length are checked against it, piece by piece. What reaches your shop or school is exactly what you already looked at, washed and agreed on with your team.

The video shows a school uniform order from cloth to carton: the fabric being cut, pleats being set, knees reinforced, waistbands fitted, labels sewn in and every piece checked and folded before packing. Your uniforms are made the same way, and you get photos at each stage so you always know where things stand.
It is a good thing to share with your uniform committee or shop staff before you order. Seeing the work makes it easier to agree on what matters for your pupils, whether that is the cut of the trousers, the style of pleat, the weight of the fabric or the way each piece is labelled for sorting.
If you would rather talk it through with someone, send us a message and we will arrange a call at a time that suits you.

A sample you can test first, honest guidance on fabric and cost, and one dedicated contact throughout.
Nothing goes into bulk until you have seen, washed and approved the sample. That approved piece then becomes the measure for fabric, pleats, fit, pockets and finish across every size you order.
Hidden elastic adjusters inside the waistband let parents tighten or loosen the fit as children grow through the year, and skirts can carry a let-down hem for extra length later.
A stain-repellent finish makes juice, mud and rain bead on the surface, so most marks wipe away with a damp cloth before they set in, even after a long day.
Each piece can carry colour-coded size tabs, a care label with a strip for the pupil's name, and barcodes for your till. Shop staff can sort, scan and shelve stock without spending time re-tagging anything.

Trousers face desks, playground tarmac and break-time football every day. We add a hidden second layer behind the knee where wear starts, sew seat and inside leg seams with heavy chain stitch, and anchor pocket corners and belt loops with bar tacks so they do not tear away.
Skirt pleats are heat-set into the fibre so they hold through long lessons and machine washing. Parents no longer need to press every pleat by hand before Monday morning. We check all of this on your sample first.

Pick the styles your uniform needs. Each one can be made in your colours, with your labels and your own sizing.

Modern slim or regular trousers with a clean front, a smart line and room to move.

Knife or box pleats set with heat, so they stay crisp through washing and long days of sitting.

Woven in your school tartan, with the check running true on the front and the back.

Bib-front pinafores and tunics for primary schools, practical and easy for young children to wear.

Elasticated waist trousers that younger pupils can pull on and off without help.

Bermuda and tailored school shorts for summer terms, made in the same fabric and colour as your trousers.

A school tartan is part of its identity, so we weave it rather than print it. The yarns are dyed to your colours before weaving, which means the check runs true through the cloth and looks clean on both sides. A printed tartan fades along seams; a woven one stays sharp.
We can reproduce your existing tartan or plaid, or help you design a new one if you are refreshing your uniform. Plain fabrics are matched to your colour references, so trousers, skirts and pinafores all sit together neatly when pupils line up in the hall.
Uniform retailers can add their own labels and barcodes to each piece. Your patterns, fabrics and tartan details stay on file, so a repeat order next year starts with a size list rather than another round of sampling, and every reorder matches the last.
The best school trousers and skirts are the ones that still fit and still look tidy at the end of the year. Before you order, it helps to decide three things: the fabric, how much growth room you need, and which styles suit each age group.
A poly-viscose twill or gabardine is the practical choice for most schools. It is hard-wearing, drapes like wool and feels softer than plain polyester. A stain-repellent finish helps it shrug off spills, and an anti-static finish stops skirts and trousers clinging to tights or legs.
Children rarely stay one size all year. Hidden waist adjusters give up to 2 inches of extra room, and let-down hems add length, so parents do not need to buy again mid-year and pupils still look neat.
Ask how the garment will fit in June, not just how it fits on the first day.
Flat front trousers suit most secondary pupils, while elasticated waists help younger children dress themselves. Knife pleats look formal, box pleats are bolder, and stitched-down pleats hold their shape best. Pinafores work well for primary years. We can sample two styles side by side so you can compare them on pupils.
Watch a school trousers and skirts order come together from start to finish.

Children sit in their uniform for hours at a time. These are the four things we always get right.
Viscose in the blend gives a soft, wool-like feel that is far more comfortable than stiff all-polyester fabrics, especially for long days in class.
Hidden elastic adjusters let parents change the waist in seconds, so trousers and skirts fit properly from the first day to the last.
An anti-static finish stops skirts and trousers clinging to tights or legs, which makes them more comfortable to wear.
Deep pockets with reinforced corners hold keys, coins and phones without tearing or pulling the garment out of shape.
One supplier for all your uniform bottoms, so colours, fabrics and sizing match across every year and every style.

Five steps from your first message to uniforms delivered before term. Each step waits for your approval.
Start your orderSend your styles, colours, tartan if you have one, rough numbers by size and your term date, and we reply with options and a clear quote.
We send fabric swatches, pleat options and a size chart, so you can choose with confidence before anything is cut.
A sample piece is made to your specification and sent to you to check fit, pleats, finish and labels.
Bulk production begins, with every piece checked against your sample and photos sent to you.
Garments are bagged, labelled by size and age, packed in strong cartons and shipped with tracking to you.
The minimum is 50 pieces per style. That low starting point lets uniform providers stock specialist cuts such as slim trousers, pleated skirts, pinafores or tailored shorts without over-ordering. You can spread the quantity across your full size range. Tell us the styles you need, and we will confirm the details and a quote for your order.
Our trousers have hidden buttonhole elastic adjusters inside the waistband that give up to 2 inches of extra room. Parents can adjust the fit as their child grows, which helps the garment last the whole school year without a trip to a tailor.
Pleated fabric is heat-set under pressure with a resin treatment, which locks each fold into the fibre. Pleats stay sharp through machine washing and long days of sitting, without needing to be pressed by hand every week.
We treat the fabric with a Teflon EcoElite stain-repellent finish. Juice, milk and mud bead on the surface and wipe off easily, so marks are less likely to set. You can test this yourself on your sample before you approve the bulk order.
Yes. We weave tartans from yarn-dyed poly-viscose, matching your school's colours and check sizes carefully. Because the colour is in every thread, the pattern stays sharp and true through years of wear. You approve the woven cloth on a sample before we make any skirts or kilts from it.
Physical samples usually take 7 to 10 business days. Bulk production usually takes 18 to 22 business days after you approve the sample. We plan around your term start date and give you a date for every stage of the order.
Yes, on request. For primary and junior trousers we can add a hidden second layer of fabric behind the knee. It cannot be seen from the outside, but it helps prevent the holes and blowouts that usually appear after a few weeks of playground games.
Yes. We ship door to door by express air for urgent orders, or by sea freight for larger shipments, with customs and duties arranged for you. You get tracking and all the paperwork your team needs, and a delivery date agreed with you well before term.
